On October 25, 2007, I hosted the first Chapter Leaders Playground webinar.- It was about how to get the media interested in your chapter.
- 11 people attended.
Since then, we have trained thousands of chapter leaders and association executives about how to get more members involved their chapter by being more engaging leaders.
In almost five years, we have done over 150 webinars all for free as a give back to the association community.
Now it’s time for some change.
I always tell chapter leaders it’s important to look at what you are doing every year and let go or change that which is not working.
The Chapter Leaders Playground was originally designed as a community for chapter leaders.
- We got the fancy set up so folks could have profiles and interact with each other.
- I spent the first year investing a lot of time in trying to build that community.
Eventually, like the thousands of members who belonged, I started to simply focus on the webinars.
So that is why we are saying farewell to the Playground.
- There is no need to invest the resources to host and support a community which really does not exist much beyond the webinars.
- We can use them to better support chapter leaders in new ways.
No worries – we are still going to do the webinar training for chapter leaders.
We are just running it through our People Power Unlimited site.
